This week we went out to enjoy a family fun trip at Aspen Crossing in Mossleigh, just 45 minutes from SE Calgary! And wow did we ever have an amazing time, this trip was more amazing then I had ever expected!
The fun started off at arrival, we had booked an overnight stay at one of the three amazing Caboose cabins! Our home for the night was the Pacific Red Caboose!
The Red Caboose is the medium size out of the three Caboose cabins, it has a queen bed, a pull out sofa bed and a double bed in the upper look out portion of the Caboose. It also has a washroom and shower, and a small kitchenette. It was the perfect size for our family of four.
Just outside of the Caboose is a patio with BBQ, there is a picnic table and a fire pit as well. You do need to bring your own lawn chairs to sit around the fire, but all the other included amenities are amazing!
The cabin is clean and so well maintained, extra bedding can be found in the dresser at the back of the Caboose. The bed was comfy and we had a great sleep. The cabin also has AC and heat so this is glamping at its finest!
Our 4 year old could not get enough of the top bunk in the lookout area of the Caboose. Immediately he claimed that as his bed and spent any minute he could up there.
A short walk from the cabin is a small playground for the kids, Aspen Crossing is super family friendly! Our kids had a blast playing here and loved the big yellow slide.
Aspen Crossing is definitely one place your kids won't be sitting around bored at!
We walked around the Aspen Crossing campground and kept coming across neat things, like this miniature train the kids had a blast playing with and exploring!
Train tracks and fields for miles, Alberta prairies at their finest!
We wandered out and explored all the big Aspen Crossing trains, it's amazing that they operate full sized authentic equipment! We had such a blast checking everything out.
We booked dinner reservations at the Diefenbaker Dining Car Restaurant, this was one of my husband's favorite parts of the trip! The history within the dining car is amazing, we could only imagine what the walls could tell us if they could talk!
The service and food at the restaurant was top notch! We had a fabulous meal, the kids had tons of fun and the atmosphere was so unique!
Narrow but super spacious, our dinner at the dining car was fantastic. We are planning to come back for one of their famous Sunday brunches!
Just behind all of the Caboose cabins is a lovely green space where we had some after dinner soccer and frisbee games. It was a great way for the kids to release some energy before bedtime.
What do our kids think of Aspen Crossing? Super duper awesome! Mom and dad had a blast too! This is definitely a great family excursion we highly recommend!
And of course as grandparents do, Liam and Veronica have free reign of the backyard to do as they please! They get to throw rocks into the fountain, play with tools and of course pick the veggies and fruits that are in season!
And water, always so much splashing! After many wet afternoons I've learned to bring tons of extra clothes with me when we visit!
Heritage Park has always felt so very magical to me, I remember visiting it during my childhood. Now I've been able to share this magic with my kids, and Liam especially loves the train! His eyes light up whenever he hears the whistle of the steam train blow its whistle as it makes its way through Heritage Park. He even knows the difference between the boat horn and the steam train whistle.
Its hard to do everything in one day at Heritage Park, there is so much to see and do! That's why we got an annual pass, so we can go back a few times and take time to enjoy our favourite things. So watch for more Heritage Park videos this summer!

One of our favourite places that's quite close to us is Saskatoon Farm near Okotoks AB. It's a great family outing, lots of things to see, beautiful atmosphere, and the food is fantastic!
Saskatoon Farm has grown so much over the last few years, and it really does serve as a great destination. Not only is Saskatoon Farm a garden centre, but they also have a restaurant, farmers market in the summer, and really neat shops.
Liam loves going to Saskatoon Farm to see the animals and explore all the neat things there. Often we cross paths with the many dogs and cats that roam the farm. One thing to remember while visiting Saskatoon Farm, it is a real working farm!

Darcy loves flying kites, he often teaches Liam how. Unfortunately this time around the wind was playing tricks on Darcy and foiling his attempts to fly a kite!
Hilarious family video of Darcy's kite flying attempts and the crash landings!

Welcome to our second episode of Mobile Monday, where I upload the last weeks videos of our cute kids from my iPhone! Most videos aren't long enough to make a full video, so I combine the weeks worth of cute baby antics to make one family fun video!
This week we get to see our kids ride in a car shopping cart together, they both had their own steering wheel to drive. We have some more hallway by the baby gate chaos, and look Veronica is standing this week! We have some fun in our Baby Einstein Excersaucer, and some swinging in our yard play time with baby girl Veronica!

Liam and Veronica are happy to show off the LeapFrog Learn and Groove Musical Table! This is a great toy intended to help entertain babies and toddler who are starting to stand. Veronica is 8 months old and she is loving the LeapFrog Learn and Groove Musical Table!
This is our second round with the LeapFrog Learn and Groove Musical Table, Liam used it when he was learning to stand up! Its pretty awesome to see a toy be used again and to have both of my children playing with it!

We had a little family outing to a nearby community of McKenzie Towne to check out their Pirate Ship themed park! We have been here before but it was a year ago and Liam couldn't climb this tall structure so it wasn't as fun.
After a short walk around the beautiful McKenzie Towne pond we came across this playground, wow Liam was so excited! He ran right to it without waiting for us and started to play immediately!
He had very little trouble climbing it this year, he was intimidated by the tall slides but after some encouragement he went down and loved it! The McKenzie Towne Pirate Park gets some major thumbs up from us!

Play a Latte, or 'bouncy castle' as Liam calls it is one of our favourite family outings. It's a ton of fun, inexpensive and it wears both kids out so that they sleep well!
Play a Latte has recently move a few things around so I find it much more open and a much better layout for the kids, plus its much brighter in there now. We had a ton of fun as usual, and even mom and dad got to go down some of the awesome bouncy castle slides!

Our baby girl Veronica had fun when we went to Play a Latte, or as Liam calls it "bouncy castle"! Our little girl got to crawl around and play with the Rody Horses and Bilibo! She sure had fun trying to get on the Rody Horse, and was so fascinated by the way the Bilibo rocked.
