January Journal Prompts

One common misconception is that you have to have your entire year figured out and planned out by January 1st. But what if you can actually spend a few weeks of the quiet winter months planning, goal setting and reflecting? And what is better than a quiet moment with a cup of something hot spending some time getting lost in your own thoughts?

January is the perfect time to focus on your priorities for the upcoming year and slowly lay the groundwork to figure out what you really want. These journal prompts are a great place to start reflecting and planning. Spend a few minutes a day on these questions, and I find actually writing them out by hand is usually the best approach.

If you're a busy mom try and find a moment in the day that you can do this too. Whether its waking up before the kids, or after they've gone to bed. During nap time or while the kids are having a snack. It's had to carve out some time but I can assure you it is not impossible.

  1. Choose a word for this year and explain why it is important to you.

  2. What is a challenge your overcame from last year and why was it a blessing?
